If you’re like me and have been getting targeted with Wildgrain’s (super delicious looking!) ads and we’re curious about the service, I gave it a try to share an unbiased review!
I don’t want to give a total spoiler alert, but – we’re pretty big fans.
Wildgrain is not your typical bread company. Their breads, pasta and treats are made with wonderful clean ingredients, and they are unique in that you bake most of them from frozen so they’re super fresh when you enjoy them!
We tried a variety of their pastas, breads and pastries and were really impressed, but there were a couple things we didn’t love about the service. We’re sharing the good and the bad below!
What is in a Wildgrain Bakery Box?
Wildgrain has 6 different box options. You can get either a 6 Item Box or a 12 Item Box.
Box Type | 6 Item | 12 Item |
Variety Box | $99 | $159 |
Pastries & Desserts | $109 | $169 |
Plant Based Box | $99 | $159 |
I would get the 6 Item Variety Box to try it out. If you like it, you can always upgrade to 12 items – but unless you eat a lot of bread – we found the 6 Item box was good for us.
If you are going to try it, you can use this link to get free croissants for life.
Once you select your box type, you’ll be able to pick out what you’d like in your box. You can choose from multiple types of breads, pastas or pastries.
My favorite things from Wildgrain
- Cranberry Sourdough Loaf
- Plain Sourdough Loaf
- 1 Pack of Fresh Tonnarelli – we looooove fresh pasta!
- Croissants (4 pack)
- 6 Pack of Giant Chocolate Chunk Cookies – I’m picky about cookies and normally make my own Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies but these were delicious!
- 1 Pack of Sourdough Dinner Rolls – We really like these because we’re only 2 people, so we can just heat up 2 rolls if we want!
Wildgrain Bread pros & cons
We really like Wildgrain and would recommend their subscription.
What we like about Wildgrain:
- delicious products – everything we’ve tried from Wildgrain was SO tasty.
- easy to manage subscription – you can easily modify your subscription, ship dates, what’s in your box, etc on their website.
- high quality ingredients– most bread is made with highly processed flours and not so great ingredients. Wildgrain is made with clean ingredients that are similar to what I would use if baking in my own kitchen!
- can bake directly from frozen – the bread tastes so fresh because you’re baking it from frozen.
- tons of options– Wildgrain has a lot of options for adding to your box. Right now they had over 25 different breads, pastas, pastries and fun seasonal specials. I like that there is a lot of variety.
What we don’t like about Wildgrain:
- pricey – each item costs about $12-$16, which is a lot for a loaf of bread or pastries. However, I personally think it’s worth the price. Bread and pastries are expensive when you buy them at a bakery. All of the products are made with wholesome ingredients, are super fresh, and honestly delicious!
- subscription model – I wish you could just order a one off box rather than having to subscribe. It’s very easy to pause/cancel/modify your subscription – but we don’t eat a ton of bread, so I wish I could set it up to deliver every 3 months, or just order a box when I need it. Right now I just pause/skip months in between deliveries.

Who is wildgrain good for?
Wildgrain is great for people who:
- enjoy freshly baked breads and pastries, but don’t have a ton of time to make them themselves.
- loves sourdough bread, but can’t manage to keep a starter alive (oops, that’s me!)
- are interested in healthier choices when it comes to carbs!
Is Wildgrain worth it?
Personally, we think Wildgrain is worth it. We don’t have many options for high quality bakeries near us, and I love the ingredients and taste of these breads/treats.
It’s not something we do every month because we just don’t eat enough bread/pasta – but if we were a bigger family I think the 6 item box would be great monthly!
You can absolutely make your own sourdough bread for significantly cheaper, but I truthfully don’t have the time for that and sourdough is a lot of work to maintain (especially if you don’t eat a lot of bread every day!)
FAQS
No, Wildgrain is not gluten free. Some people find that sourdough bread is easier to digest for those with a gluten sensitivity, but if you are gluten free their products are not gluten free!
